Community Meeting: "Time to upgrade to modern Gazebo? New exclusive features for lights/materials, follow/track cameras, topic frequency, and primitive shapes"

Hello everybody! I hope everybody is having a great summer!

Benjamin Perseghetti will be presenting a general guide to some recent feature additions to Gazebo Harmonic. These additions include:

  • Dynamic lighting and material control from a message, this is useful for simulating lighting elements such as color changing LEDs.
  • Using the latest follow and track camera to view fast moving objects or get consistent perspective on a follow target.
  • Checking topic frequency for debugging from the gz CLI.
  • Using cone primitives to simulate common properties.

Agenda:

  1. Latest Gazebo news - Addisu Tadesse (Intrinsic)
  2. “Time to upgrade to modern Gazebo? New exclusive features for lights/materials, follow/track cameras, topic frequency, and primitive shapes”. Benjamin Perseguetti (Rudis Laboratories)

We opened a slot for short (3 minutes) lighting presentations. If you’re interested in talking about your Gazebo project contact me (caguero AT openrobotics DOT org) and I’ll book your slot.
