Hi Gazebo Community!
This week’s meeting was held on 2025-01-13T19:00:00Z and the following is a summary:
- Progress updates:
- Uploaded Gazebo-classic 11.15.0 (which includes the Gazebo classic EOL
notice) to ros-testing repository. This is targeting ROS Noetic/Ubuntu
Focal users and will by available after the next Noetic sync.- For Ubuntu Jammy users, the EOL notice will be added via
gazebo_ros_pkgs
since we are not making releases into Jammy.
- For Ubuntu Jammy users, the EOL notice will be added via
- Progress on Conda for CI on build.osrfoundation.org. A new conda
environment for Harmonic and newer is under review - The work to integrate Zenoh and gz-transport has started. Currently in the
early research stage and will be followed by prototypes and a design
document.- We had discussions on whether it makes sense to use
rmw_zenoh
or if it
would be possible to extract parts ofrmw_zenoh
(e.g. the graph cache)
into a separate library and use that in gz-transport
- We had discussions on whether it makes sense to use

Proposal for simulation interfaces.
There wasn’t sufficient time to discuss in detail, but the committee was
asked to review the PR. There was also some discussion on the design ofros_gz
vsgazebo_ros_pkgs
. - We ran out of time to discuss the rest of the items on the agenda, so they will be copied over to the next meeting.
